Will Republican Candidates be asked the Tough Questions?
The CNN YouTube debate was a gimmick. The gimmick worked better than anyone could have predicted. Tough questions were asked and answered.
The question now is will the Republican debate also receive the tough questions? You and I play a role here. We can all make our YouTube videos (never done it, but I can learn), ask our questions and move on.
I have to admit, I loved seeing John Edwards put on the spot on gay marriage and religion. Well answered by the way, but it put him on the spot. A few Republicans need to be on the spot on religion. Some hard questions are called for. How about some questions on impeachment and the unitary presidency. Questions on the separation of powers are called for. Then there is Iraq. How do you as President intend to break the Gordian knot that is Iraq? What does winning in Iraq mean to you sir? What lessons from Vietnam are applicable to Iraq? So many questions and I haven't skimmed the surface. We all of us have a responsibility not just to lob a few tough questions at Democrats, but to Lob them at Republicans too.
